Week 16 Waterproofing, Windowsills and More Tiles

Week Sixteen 21 - 25 Jan

Day 75 - 79.  I have been a bit recalcitrant in my writing with the start of the new school year and some chaotic happenings at work, but finally a few minutes to catch up the blog.

Outside.  During this week more work was done to get to get the outside finished.  I am really pleased with the finishes to the window sills, I thought they would end up just being flat square finished but the little lip looks great.

The brick work at the back of the house is working its way up and the prep has been finished for getting the cladding on around the sides and deck.  Its good to see the walls are well insulated especially on that side of the house.

Bathroom Tiling.  The tilers have been hard at work.  The main part of the wall tiles are finished in the kids bathroom and the floor in the ensuite has been waterproofed.  We had a minor hiccup with the ensuite when we discovered that the floor tiles in the ensuite were a few mm larger than the wall tiles so the joints could not be perfectly lined up.  This was interesting because the measurements that are used to describe them are the same.  Anyway it wasn't a bit issue I just had them offset the tiles so that it was not obvious.

Tip - Physically measure the tiles you are choosing so if you want the joints to line up they do.

Laundry / Games Room.  The floor tiling has been laid in this room its just waiting for grouting.  The laundry trough has been installed and I am happy with how it all looks.
